Hyperventilation

Hyperventilation

When you're anxious, your breathing becomes fast and shallow, leaving you feeling dizzy and with tingling in your hands and feet.

Details

Hyperventilation occurs when breathing becomes excessively fast and deep, causing carbon dioxide levels in the blood to drop and producing a range of symptoms.

Symptoms include dizziness, tingling in the hands and feet, chest tightness, and blurred vision. It is commonly experienced during panic attacks.

When hyperventilation occurs, try breathing in slowly through your nose and out slowly through your mouth. The 4-7-8 breathing technique — inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds — can be very helpful. Mindy is here to practice this with you.

💡 Real-Life Example
