Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt Therapy

A therapeutic approach that emphasizes present-moment experience and awareness in the 'here and now.'

Details

Gestalt Therapy is an approach developed by Fritz Perls that places strong emphasis on present-moment experience and awareness.

Rather than focusing on the past or future, it centers on what you are feeling and experiencing right now, in the 'here and now.' It makes frequent use of experiential techniques such as the empty chair technique and role reversal.

The underlying philosophy is that 'awareness itself is healing.' Practicing the ability to fully feel and acknowledge your own experience is what creates real change. — Mindy

💡 Real-Life Example
