Panic Disorder

Panic Disorder

Panic disorder is a condition where sudden, intense waves of fear and physical symptoms — called panic attacks — occur repeatedly.

Details

Panic disorder is a condition in which unexpected panic attacks occur repeatedly, accompanied by persistent fear of the next attack.

A panic attack involves a sudden rush of symptoms such as a racing heart, difficulty breathing, dizziness, and an overwhelming sense of impending doom. It typically reaches its peak within 10–20 minutes.

Panic attacks are terrifying, but they are not life-threatening. Try telling yourself: 'This is a panic attack. It will pass.' — Mindy

💡 Real-Life Example

'Suddenly my heart is pounding, I can't breathe, and a wave of terror washes over me like I'm about to die.'
