Depersonalization

Depersonalization

It's the feeling that you yourself seem unreal, or as if you're observing yourself from the outside.

Details

Depersonalization is a dissociative experience where your own self, your thoughts, and your body feel unreal.

"I am me, but I don't feel like myself," or "I feel like I'm in a dream." It's the mind's protective response to extreme anxiety or trauma.

It's frightening, but it's not a dangerous state. Practicing focusing on your senses — like washing your face with cold water or holding ice — can help. Mindy is here to support you.

💡 Real-Life Example

"My hands don't feel like they belong to me, or it feels like I'm moving like a robot."
