Self-Identity

Self-Identity

A stable sense of who you truly are. It's made up of the qualities and values that make you uniquely you.

Details

Self-identity is a stable sense of who you are, what you value, and where you belong.

While it's an especially important developmental task during adolescence, it actually continues to grow and evolve throughout your entire life. It's the ongoing process of discovering your 'authentic self' across many areas — including your career, relationships, and personal values.

It's okay if your sense of identity feels uncertain at times. The process of exploring who you are is an important part of growth. If you'd like to talk through what feels unclear about your identity, Mindy is here to help.

💡 Real-Life Example

"Knowing what matters most to me and what kind of person I want to become" — that's self-identity.
