Reinforcement

Reinforcement

Reinforcement happens when a good outcome follows a behavior, making you more likely to do that behavior again.

Details

Reinforcement occurs when a positive outcome follows a specific behavior, increasing how often that behavior happens.

There are two types: positive reinforcement (giving something good) and negative reinforcement (removing something unpleasant). Both have the effect of increasing behavior.

Try using reinforcement on yourself! When you reach a goal, give yourself a reward. Even a small reward can become a big source of motivation — Mindy believes in you.

💡 Real-Life Example

"Eating a delicious snack after studying makes you feel more motivated to study" — that's positive reinforcement.
