Person-Centered Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
A therapy developed by Carl Rogers that draws out the client's natural healing capacity through warm acceptance and empathy.
Details
Person-Centered Therapy (also called Client-Centered Therapy) was developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizing the therapeutic relationship over specific techniques.
There are three core conditions: unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and genuineness (congruence). In this environment, clients are able to activate their own natural healing capacity.
The message 'You are worthy just as you are' is at the heart of this therapy.
