Passive Aggression

Passive Aggression

Passive aggression is behavior where dissatisfaction or anger is expressed indirectly rather than openly and directly.

Details

Passive aggression is a behavioral pattern where anger or frustration cannot be expressed directly, so it comes out in indirect ways.

This includes intentional ignoring, procrastination, sarcasm, silence, and saying 'sure' while never following through.

It tends to appear in people who fear direct confrontation or who grew up in environments where emotional expression was suppressed.

It can cause serious harm to relationships and becomes a reason why problems go unresolved and worsen over time.

Practicing expressing uncomfortable feelings in a direct and constructive way is important. If you'd like support with this, Mindy is here to help.

💡 Real-Life Example

Feeling angry but saying 'I'm fine,' then deliberately forgetting a commitment or responding with sarcasm — that's passive aggression.
