Left Brain / Right Brain

Left Brain / Right Brain

This is the concept that the left and right hemispheres of the brain are each specialized for different functions.

Details

The left and right hemispheres of the brain are each specialized to some degree for different functions. The left brain is known to be more involved in language, logic, and analytical thinking, while the right brain is more involved in spatial awareness, creativity, and emotional processing.

However, dividing people into 'left-brained' or 'right-brained' types is not scientifically accurate. Most cognitive activities are carried out through the cooperation of both hemispheres working together. A structure called the corpus callosum connects both sides of the brain, allowing information to be exchanged rapidly between them.

💡 Real-Life Example

You may have heard someone say, 'I'm a left-brained person, so I'm very logical.' In reality, both sides of the brain work together to carry out most tasks.
