Craving

Craving

An intense urge or desire for a particular substance or behavior.

Details

Craving is a powerful, sometimes overwhelming pull toward a substance or behavior, driven by the brain's reward system. Certain situations, places, or emotions can trigger these urges, which is completely normal. During recovery, cravings are a natural part of the process and tend to fade over time. One helpful approach is to observe a craving like a wave — watching it rise and fall without acting on it, because feeling a craving does not mean you have to follow through.

💡 Real-Life Example

When you're trying to eat healthier and suddenly feel an intense urge for something sweet after a stressful day, that's craving in action.
