Organizational justice is composed of distributive justice (fairness of outcomes), procedural justice (fairness of processes), and interactional justice (fairness of treatment). When people feel things are fair, job satisfaction, commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior all increase. When people feel things are unfair, anger, turnover intentions, and counterproductive behaviors can rise. Perfect fairness is difficult to achieve, but efforts to maintain transparency and consistency are essential. Even simply having channels through which members can voice their concerns can raise perceptions of fairness.
