Collaborative Therapy

A therapy approach where therapist and client work together as partners in conversation.

Details

Collaborative therapy sees therapy as a shared conversation, not a one-way expert process. The therapist does not assume they already know the client’s truth or the “right” answer. Instead, therapist and client explore the person’s experience together with curiosity, respect, and openness. The conversation itself becomes a place where new meaning, new language, and new possibilities can grow.

💡 Real-Life Example

Instead of telling a client what their problem “really is,” the therapist asks open questions and helps them find words that feel true to their experience.
