chronic stress

Chronic Stress

Stress that stays for a long time and slowly wears down the body and mind.

Details

Chronic stress is stress that lasts for weeks, months, or longer without enough recovery in between. Instead of helping you respond to a short challenge, your body stays on alert for too long. Over time, this can affect sleep, mood, concentration, immunity, digestion, and overall health. It often feels like never fully getting a chance to exhale.

💡 Real-Life Example

Someone juggling money worries, caregiving, and work pressure feels tense every day and cannot remember the last time they truly relaxed.
