choice overload

Choice Overload

When there are too many options, deciding can get harder and feel less satisfying.

Details

Choice overload is what happens when having too many options makes a decision feel heavier instead of easier. Instead of feeling free, a person may feel mentally exhausted, stuck, worried about choosing wrong, or disappointed even after making a choice. More options are not always better when the brain has to compare everything at once. Often, people cope better when they narrow their options and focus on what matters most.

💡 Real-Life Example

Someone scrolls through dozens of streaming options for so long that they end up watching nothing and feeling annoyed.
