Cancer and Psychology

The emotional side of living with cancer, from diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and fear of recurrence.

Details

Cancer affects far more than the body. It can bring shock, fear, sadness, anger, grief, uncertainty, and changes in identity for both the person diagnosed and the people around them. This area looks at how cancer and mental health are connected, and why emotional support, counseling, stress care, and honest communication matter during treatment and recovery. Mental health care is not an extra here. For many people, it is part of getting through the experience at all.

💡 Real-Life Example

After a cancer diagnosis, someone may look calm on the outside but feel terrified, numb, and overwhelmed inside. That emotional burden is part of cancer and mental health.
