Broca's Area
Broca's Area
The brain region that helps us produce spoken language.
Details
Broca's area is a part of the brain, usually in the left frontal lobe, that plays a major role in producing speech and forming language. When it is affected, a person may know what they want to say but struggle to get the words out smoothly.
💡 Real-Life Example
Someone with damage in Broca's area may speak in short, effortful phrases like 'water... want... drink.'
