Brief therapy

Brief Therapy

A short-term therapy approach that focuses on clear goals and practical change.

Details

Brief therapy is a form of therapy designed to help within a limited number of sessions. Instead of exploring everything in depth for a long time, it usually focuses on one or a few clear goals and works toward change in a more direct way.

It often puts more attention on what is happening now, what is keeping the problem going, and what might help next. Many forms of brief therapy also look for the person's existing strengths, patterns, and resources.

Short-term does not mean shallow. It means focused. For many people, a shorter therapy can still bring meaningful relief and movement.

💡 Real-Life Example

A person overwhelmed by a work conflict attends several focused sessions, learns practical coping strategies, and starts handling the situation more confidently.
