Brainwashing
A coercive process that breaks down a person’s existing beliefs and pushes new ones onto them.
Details
Brainwashing refers to intense psychological manipulation used to control how someone thinks, feels, and behaves. It often involves isolation, repetition, fear, sleep deprivation, and pressure that make it harder for the person to trust their own judgment.
💡 Real-Life Example
A group may first shower someone with attention, then cut them off from outside support and repeatedly pressure them to accept the group’s beliefs.
